Sportsmanship is one of the most important things that a child should learn when playing a team sport. I was beyond amazed after one of my daughter’s softball games the other team asked if after the game we could have the girl’s line up around the pitcher’s mound. While the girls circled the pitcher’s mound the other team presented them with a little bag of goodies with a tag that read GREAT GAME. Such an amazing gesture from an opposing team, reminding everyone what sports are all about.
As team Mom, I thought I should return the gesture the next time we played that team. I decided to give the girls Air Head Extreme and come up with a clever saying to go along with the candy.
What you will need:
- Extreme Airheads
- Curling String
- Paper Hole Puncher
The first thing I did was print a label with our team logo and a clever saying to go along with the Air head Extremes. The saying read, “You are EXTREME fun to play against! The Black Diamonds”. I also, used a paper hole puncher to place a whole at the end of each label for easy attachment.
Next, I cut the curling ribbon in about 12″ strips and used them to tie the label to the candy. I used a piece of tape on the back side of the candy to the hold the curling ribbon to the candy. These are for little ones and I thought the label might slip off.
The finished gifts ready to give to our opponents!
It is amazing how excited the girls were to give a little token of appreciation to the opposing team. Not one of the thirteen girls asked if they could have one, True Sportsmanship!
