Quick little Valentine Dessert Spread

I enjoy putting together little spreads for the Holidays, even if is just for the family. Well, who am I kidding? It doesn’t even have to be for a Holiday, it can be just because. Being the large family that we are, it always seems like a party with us. My girls and I love to bake, so when a holiday is close by we like to get festive and make a few things to go with the Holiday.

Here are few things that we put together last year for Valentine’s Day.

The first thing we did was make cupcakes. We dressed them up by using a frosting bag and a round tip to apply the frosting for a fun finished look. We topped them with a chocolate candy heart. If you don’t want to make cupcakes you can always buy them from the store and add a candy heart as a topper. We placed them on a cake stand to make them look fancy.

We also made Chocolate Heart Lollipops. We purchased a heart candy mold and used Wilson melting chocolate to create our Chocolate Heart Lollipops; we even added little heart candies to some. Then, we placed them in a vase that we received flowers in the year before. We added foam covered with pink tissue paper to the inside of the vase so the lollipops would stay upright.

The girls always enjoy making sugar cookies with mom so I baked some heart shaped cookies and let them add the frosting, sprinkles, and candies. If you don’t want to make them form scratch you can always purchase ready to bake dough in the refrigerator section at your local grocery store.

Final, we placed them all on a section of the counter atop a Valentine cloth. We also added a heart bowl with candies and a few other little items that we picked up.
