Personalized Beer Mugs

Personalized beer mugs are great gift for many occasions. I had the honor of being a team mom (let just say I say that with a little humor to it!) and one of my duties as team mom was to figure out the coaches gifts.  This particular team, had lots of help, we had 7 extra coaches that my head coach wanted to recognize.  So, I needed to figure out something that was not to expensive and something they would not want to throw in the trash when they left. I thought that I could make Personalized Beer Mugs, after all if they aren’t beer drinkers they could really drink anything out of it or use it to hold things like pens or coins.

What you need:

  • Printed Label
  • Modge Podge
  • Beer Mugs
  • Paper Cutter
  • Sponge Applicator

I started by printing a label for the mug in excel on the computer.  I used photo paper when printing the label, the color on the photo paper  is brighter and the color doesn’t run when you cover it with the modge podge.   I used a paper cutter to make straight cuts on the label.

Next, I added the label to the mug by putting glue on the back side of the label I cut. Then, I placed it on the mug and let it dry for a short while.  To finish off the label, I covered the front of the label with modge podge. When covering the label with the modge podge, try to use even strokes and extend pass the label onto the mug with about a millimeter of the modge podge. (This will help the label from lifting!)

Let the glue dry completely and your mugs are ready to be distributed! I loved the way they turned out and was happy for with the coaches reactions as well. The great thing about these gifts are they only cost about $3.00 to make!  You can find the mugs at the 99 Cents Store sometimes or Walmart for $2.00, such a steal.

  1. These are so cool! I’ve never thought to use mod podge to do something like this. Great tip to use photo paper too.
