Last week we shared with you, how to make Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, the problem we ran into was we ended up with quite a bit of lemon juice. I didn’t want to throw the lemon juice away so we decide, that we would freeze it to use at a later date. We will show you how to freeze the lemon juice and give you a few other ideas on how to you the frozen lemon juice.
What you will need:
- fresh squeezed lemon juice
- ice cube trays
The first thing we did was, figure out how many ice cubes equaled 1 cup. Pour the fresh squeezed juice into a measuring cup to the 1 cup mark. Now, pour the lemon juice into the ice cube tray. We figured out that 8 of our ice cubes equals 1 cup.
Now, you will want to place the ice cube trays in the freezer. Once, they are frozen, I took them out and bagged them in groups of 8.
After, they were bagged; we placed them back into to freezer. I now know that I have 1 cup of frozen lemon juice that I can added to water to make lemonade. For a great lemonade recipe click here, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade.
The lemonade made from the frozen juice tasted just as good as the fresh squeezed lemonade I made the day we squeezed them. You can also, cut a little slice of lemon or peel and place in each cube too!
Other uses for the frozen lemon juice:
- Add to water in place of regular ice cubes to creating Lemon Water
- Lemon juice for any recipe..just let it thaw and voila lemon juice.
- Add to not or cold tea
- Drop lemon ice cube into the garbage disposal with vinegar to clean and sharpen the blades.
My kids are so excite that the lemons will not be going to waste and they will be able to have lemon juice for lemonade year round.
