Looking for that under the sea party idea? These Jellyfish Lanterns will add a huge impact on your party, create a underwater feel and are easy to do with minimal cost. I had so much fun making then and my children didn’t want to stop playing with them..even wearing them as Jellyfish costumes. Once, we hung them we realized that they floated in the wind creating a real jellyfish like movement. The Jellyfish Lanterns helped bring the party to life.
What you will need:
- Double sided tape or hot glue
The first thing you are going to do is cut the lanterns in half.
Then, cut streamers at a varied of lengths. I cut a few of the streamer in half horizontally creating different widths to the streamers.
Now, add double sided tape to the streamer and place them on the inner side of the lantern you cut in half. (When a few wear torn off by my children when playing with them, I hot glued them back on with an glue gun and this worked well. Watch your finger though, the glue is hot and streamers are thin!)
Next, add string to the top of your newly created Jellyfish Lanterns and hang the Jellyfish in small groupings from the rafters or ceiling of your party.
These simple DIY Jellyfish Lanterns had such an impact, on the underwater feel of the party. The girls even enjoyed running through them trying not to be touched, creating a game of their own. The major plus to these Jellyfish Lanterns is, you can create a lot for a minimal cost!
