It’s a hot summer day and you are thirsty as can be, what do you think of? A glass of Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, thirst quenching lemonade right! Well, I have a great recipe for you that can double as fun filled activity for the whole family. My neighbor has a lemonade tree that is just exploding with lemons. I have never seen a tree this full and can you believe, he doesn’t even like lemons. So, on a daily basis, my girls and I run over and pick a few that look ripe and the ones off the ground too.
The girls started out this activity by picking a few lemons from the tree.
Here is the recipe we will be using for our Lemonade!
The first thing we did was wash the lemons. Then, the girls rolled the lemons making them easier for juicing. I cut the lemons in half and the girls used a hand juice to twist the lemons on. They had a blast seeing who could get the most juice. We then, poured the lemon juice through a strainer to remove the pulp or seeds. We juices sever cups of lemon juice, to many for our lemonade, so stop back by next week to see what we did with the extra lemon juice.
Now, that we have our FRESH SQUEEZED LEMON JUICE, we can make our lemonade. First, add 1 cup of the lemon juice. Then, add 6 cups of water. Now, add 1 cup of sugar and stir it all together. Do a little taste test to see if you need extra lemon juice or water!
Voila.. FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE! We added some lemon slices as a garnish and it was ready to drink.
The Simply Creative Way girls enjoying all their hard work!
This was such a fun activities for the kids and the reward delicious.
