I don’t know about your kids, but my girls are crazy into art! I think I get a new piece of art work every day; well I do have four girls, so that might just be why. I was running out of spaces to place the art work when they were finished, so I decided to make an Art Work hold for the wall, an little Hall of Fame for all their hard work. I have to admit that I searched on Pinterest and quite a few people had been using chicken wire and an empty frame to hang anything from; message boards, card holders, door hangers, picture holders and so much more, I fell in love. I wanted to make one so using it as my Art Work Display Holder was perfect.
What you will need:
- Empty Frame
- Chicken Wire
- Staple gun and Staples
- Wire cutters
Start by laying your frame on a level surface and roll out the chicken wire and staple to one side of the frame. You might want to measure the length of the opening of the frame and cut your wire out first, but I found that the leaving the roll intact gave weight to the wire making it easier to work with while stapling.
Continue down the frame stapling as you roll the chicken wire out. Make sure that you are pulling the chicken wire as tight as possible before stapling the chicken wire down. Once, you get the end of the opening of the frame use your wire cutters to cut off the extra.
Here is a picture of the frame finished from the back side. At this point I used my hammer to go over all the staples to make sure they are flush with the frame. I also, tapped the ends of the chicken wire with the hammer to assure it was lying flat on the frame; it can be a little sharp!
A close up of the staples and chicken wire!
I am just loving the new Framed Chicken Wire Art Work Display Holder! I thought that I should take a few piece of art work off to make it aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but with the amount of artwork I receive from the girls, this is the true deal.
