DIY Personalized Team Sports Pennants

Softball season has just begun and I got nominated to be team mom. The moms of our Softball League have a lot of different responsibilities.  The first thing we have to do is, get the girls a ready for Opening Day.  This isn’t just come in your uniform and be introduced!  We have to get creative and find something fun for the girls to hold and/or wear to show their team spirit.   My daughter’s team is the Black Diamonds.  I struggled a little bit on what to have the wear and hold.  Here is the first thing we came up with.

Team Pennants with the girls name and team logo!

The first thing I did was use a pennant my husband had as a template and traced multiple pennants on poster board I purchased at the 99 Cent Store. What a deal!

I used a ruler and a X-Acto knife to cut the pennants out.

Then, I used glitter glue over the entire pennant.  This gave the pennant a little sparkle without getting glitter everywhere. It also helped in making the paper a little stiffer.

Next, I printed our team logo out, cut out the image and glued it to the pennant. I used my cricket machine to cut out the girl’s names to be glued to the pennant too.

I then added slits to the end of the pennant so I could add a wooden rod through them to hold the pennant.

Finally, I glued some ribbon to the end of the pennant and added some black gems.  After all we are the black diamonds.

Our finished team pennant! Go Black Diamonds!
