Everyday my little ones are giving some sort of artwork that they make. I have to admit I would hold onto it for a few days then I throw it away. Today when I was about to throw away these dot paint pieces of art I had any idea. I would turn them into DIY Easter Egg Shaped Cards. The girls need to send card to their Grandma and this way I can recycle old artwork and save some money, not buying cards…I don’t know about you, but I would much rather receive a homemade card then a store bought one!
What you will need:
- Old Artwork
- Easter Egg temple
- Pen or pencils
Find some old artwork you have lying around. Just about any artwork that can be cut will work great. If you like the looks of these you can use paint dotter. Paint dotters are great for little ones, they are not too messy and their little hands can grasp the pens perfectly.
Simply fold your artwork in half!
Use a temple to draw an egg shape on your card. I used a cake baking pan; you can use a piece of cardboard or anything else that has as an egg shape that is traceable. Make sure that one side of the egg is slightly off the paper so you have a fold that will not be cut to create the card.
Cut out the egg shape you traced on the artwork and you have a card!
The cards are now ready for you to personalize them. Simple DIY Easter Egg Cards that will cost nothing to make and are sure to be a big hit with the recipient.
