DIY Candy Cane Sugar Scrub with Creative Packaging.

Figuring out a Christmas Gift for my girl’s teachers, principle and front office staff is always a little stressful.  Not to mention, trying to figure out different gifts each year too!!  This year, I decided to make Candy Cane Sugar Scrub. Making this Candy Cane Sugar Scrub is an easy process, with only four ingredients.  The best part is, it’s rather inexpensive too.  After making the scrub the fragrance will have you smelling like the holidays and your hands will be as smooth as ever!!

Supplies you will need:

  • Candy Canes
  • Coconut Oil
  • Peppermint Oil
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Measuring cups
  • Bowl
  • spoon
  • Containers for packaging

(I chose to use organic products but this is optional regular products will work just fine!)

The 1st step is to crush the candy canes.  When crushing the candy canes I used a wooden meat tenderizer but the back of a spoon or rolling pin will work great too!!  I left the wrappers on so it wouldn’t make a big mess. To make the scrub look a little more festive I added candy cane! Candy canes are made mostly out of sugar so I figure it would work perfect in the scrub.

Once you have the candy cane crushed, add the candy cane, sugar and peppermint oil to a bowl mix all ingredients together. Your Candy Cane Sugar Scrub is ready.  It’s really that easy!!!

1/2 cup Coconut Oil (melted)

1/4 cup crushed candy canes

1 cup sugar

10 drops of peppermint oil (Add more for stronger fragrance.)

This is enough for a small jar so if you are making for gifts you might want to double or triple the recipe!!

After you have the scrub mixed together, simply spoon in the mixture to your jars.  I always save jars so I had a few different ones laying around that I use.   Don’t forget to get your hands messing, when you are finished you will have the softest hand ever!!

Since, I was giving my scrubs as gifts; I decide to make a cute label.  I printed the labels and Modge Podged them on the lid to my jar.

After the lids where done drying I tied them with a ribbon, a small little wooden spoon, a candy cane and gift tag!!

I was so happy with the way they turned out!  My girls helped make the scrub with me so they can’t wait to give them away!!

Be sure to make a few extra Candy Cane Sugar Scrubs for yourself!
