DIY Award Medallion Ribbon

DIY Award Medallion Ribbons can be used for so many different things such as; award ceremonies, prizes, birthdays, centerpieces and so much more. I actually use mine in a Horse Race Center Piece that I will be sharing with you at a later date. I decided to make my own when I went in search of buying some and had no success.
What you will need:
- Ribbon (with wire)
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Glue (E6000 or Hot Glue Gun)
- Fastener (to pin on shirt)
- Skewer (to use in centerpiece)
Step 1: Prepare the Ribbons
I started out by cutting 5 ribbons the same length. I cut my ribbon about 6 inched long but you can change the length depending on how large or small you want your medallion to be. I also recommend that you use ribbon with wire, this helps to make the ribbon loops stand up and not sag. Choose one of the ribbons; fold the ribbon in half and cut V’s in the end of the ribbon, this ribbon will be as the tail later.
Step 2: Creating the Bow
Place the ribbon on the table; fold the ribbons in on both ends so they meet in the middle. Use a little dab of glue to hold in place. Repeat this with the other four ribbons.
Now, place the ribbons on top of each other to create what looks like a flower.
Once, you have your flower staple the ribbons together.
Here is a picture of what your ribbons should look like.
Now, take your final ribbon with the cut ends and fold it into a V-shape.
Glue the ribbon on to the back of the ribbon flower that you made to create your medallion.
On this ribbon medallion I hot glued a pin fastener to the back.
I decide to use my medallions as part of some centerpieces so I hot glued skewer to this medallion.
Step 3: Add Medallion Center
I created the center of the medallion using iPiccy and circle paper punch. I used two different sized circle punches to give the center contrast.
The finished DIY Award Medallion Ribbon.
DIY Award Medallion can be used for so many different things and customized to fit the event.
