We just finished making a decorative jar using yarn and decided that we would make one decorated with ribbon. Our first jar turned out so cute that we now have an little addiction to decorating jars. The girls are super excited to fill the little jars and give them away as Valentines Gifts to their best friends. If you didn’t get a chance to see the decorated yarn jar please stop by http://simplycreativeways.com/valentines-day…s-and-yarn-art/.
What you will need:
- Glue gun
We decide to start with the lid first. We took to ribbons and layered them to cover the sides or the lid. We used felt to cover the top by cutting out a circle that covered the top.
The next thing we did was wrap a purple ribbon around the jar using glue to adhere the ribbon.
When then decide to add a ribbon to the jar that looked like skirt. To get the ribbon to look skirt like we pulled the wire out of one side of the ribbon. This causes the ribbon to begin to ruffle. This can only be done with ribbon that has wire in it for shaping.
Once, we had the skirt finished, we hot glued it to the jar.
Here you have it the finish jar. My daughter just started dance and everything need a skirt or tutu.
The girls decided to fill there jars with candy and are extremely excited to give them to their best friend on Valentine’s Day! Upcycled jars are great for all occasions.
