I am so excited to share with you my Decorative Blown Out Eggs. My daughter’s and I had a blast making Decorative Eggs. These decorative blown out eggs can be used in so many different ways, add them to a bouquet of flowers, use them as an egg arrangement, or center pieces.
Use blown out eggs, if you need a how to on this I have one; How to blow out an Egg. I used a kit that I purchased at the store, but quickly found out that it would have been just as easy to use any acrylic paint. The kit offered gloved and little dropper but again, I found out that plastic baggies work great if not better. They gave you two set of glove; I found that I used one bag per color. Once, you have the bag on your hand drop a few droplets of color on the egg and crunch the egg around in your hand, as you begin doing this you will be able to see how much or how little paint you would like to use. Set that egg aside to dry and start on another egg with that same process as before. Now, you can go back to the first egg you started with and add more color. We found on some eggs we likes one color that we had swirled the egg around in our hand, while others we used more of a blotting to get the look we wanted.
Let the eggs dry.
Use a glue guns to add a stick to the egg. I used a reused plastic stick that I received in an edible arrangement, but a skewer or any craft stick will work. These decorative eggs are very light weight.
Here is a picture of our eggs with sticks attached.
Spray a clear gloss on the eggs. I have to admit I did this backward and added my ribbon before the clear coat, but that is the good thing about me being the guinea pig on this and you will be able to master it with no problem.
We cut different color ribbon and used it to tie a bow on the stick of the egg.
Our finished product.
