Chocolate Thanksgiving Turkey’s

Every year my Mother-in Law makes these cute little chocolate, marshmallow, and cookie Turkeys for Thanksgiving.  We’ve added them to the table in front of everyone’s place settings at the Thanksgiving table or we’ve wrapped them up to take home as a gift. It has become a family tradition for my girls, they look forward to getting their Turkey’s to eat (they are YUMMY) and they enjoy spending time with Grandma while she makes them.

What you need:

  • Marshmallows Regular and Mini
  • Melting Chocolates; Chocolate, Orange and Red
  • Cookies
  • Candy Corns
  • Toothpicks
  • Fork
  • 3 Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Cookie sheet
  • Wax paper

The first thing you will need to do is melt the chocolate Wilson Candy Melts. Follow the melting instructions on the package. While, the chocolate is melting place a piece of wax paper over your cookie sheet.  Once, the chocolate is melted, use a toothpick or fork and dip the larger marshmallow into the chocolate.  Place the chocolate covered marshmallow on the wax paper lying down. Repeat, with the desired amount of Turkeys you want to make. This will be the body of your Turkey.

Now, add the cookie.  First, spoon some chocolate on the back of the cookie. You want enough chocolate to cover the entire back part of the cookie. Then, set it against the back of the chocolate dipped marshmallow.  See picture below.  This is creating a place for the Turkey’s feathers.

Now, let the chocolate dry a little.  Then, place the candy corns on the cookie to create feathers.  Add a little chocolate to one side of the candy corn to help it sticks better. Now, decide how many candy corns you think looks good, we placed five on a few but most of then with three.

Then, dip the mini marshmallows in the chocolate Wilson Candy Melts.  Place on top of the larger marshmallow as shown in the picture below. This will be the Turkeys head.

It’s time to add the beak.  Melt some of the orange Wilson Candy Melts.  Once melted, use a toothpick to add a little bit of the orange candy melt to look like a beak.

Now, melt a little bit of the red Wilson Candy Melts.  Once it is melted, use a toothpick to add a little red around the beak to create the Turkey’s wattle.
